I purchased lime wire PRO (and got confirmation email) and followed the steps to install it but it doesn't seem to have worked, when I open lime wire it is still just the basic version. What do I do?

LW does not cost $18.99 it costs a little less. Be sure how much you paid. Do you remember the email you registered with? If yes then try here or if it doesn't work then follow Only A Hobo's suggestion.

Can you tell us how you originally found Limewire (LW)? What steps did you go thru??? Did you find it via a google search?

I originally got to limewire through google but then followed the steps in limewire basic to download pro. I got the 2 emails. The links to download on the second email don't work. I clicked on the link in only a hobo' s thread and it seemed to download and then I followed the steps to install and still no pro.........

Can you post the email addresses of the emails you received here. ie: who it was from, not the links they gave.
