Default OS 9 required before you can run OSX

I was running OS 8.6 and purchased OSX.
I have now found out that I can not run any of my older programs
without installing OS9 classic.
So if you're posting OSX, please also make OS9 available.

You can have both Mac OS 9 and OS X on your Mac. If you have 10.1 you can go to startup disk and chouse it to start up with OS 9 if you have 10.2 then you might not be able to do that. I hope that helps.
