Limewire won't connect, help!

I just downloaded Limewire and whenever I hit connect it will say, "connecting" but then it will go right back to Disconnected. Is there something that I can, or is there a better program that I could download, instead of Limewire?
Thanks!

Well if you'd prefer another p2p app then go for it. (You don't have much choice on mac - LW is the best p2p app for mac.) Chances are you might have the same problems. If you want help then tell us some details rather than a negative 'don't work, fix or I'll go'! You sound like a lazy user. You obviously didn't read the forum rules before posting: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/announ...?s=&forumid=29 OR look around the forum before posting. I'm guessing you're using OS 9 right?
First do 2 things, update your Java: OS 9.2.2
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=120209 OR MRJ 2.2.5 for OS 8.1-9.2: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=75097
Delete your LW prefs file whilst LW is closed: it's called .limewire & can be found at the top of your system preferences folder.
If you're still having problems, post back & tell us where you are trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.), your OS version, your modem & router brand & model. And if you use any firewalls.

The same thing happened to me. Just says connecting. It does not connect no matter how long I try.

You've posted about this 4 times in the last week :wasntme:How about keeping it all in one thread?

Lord of The Rings answered you here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/mac-os...tml#post377532

and here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/open-d...tml#post377536

Did you try what he suggested??
