Morpheus Breaking the GPL.
 

Okay folks here is the story from my point of view.

Morpheus release intial preview version a while ago ripping off all swabby's work on the Gnucleus Project and adding spy ect. They include the GPL doco but they forgot to release the source a few days later they released the near source.

Just a few days ago Morpheus releases the preview version 1.9 I assume as sort of a beta for 2.0.

Morpheus doesn't not attach the GPL there by breaking it.

Morpheus doesn't release the source.

A couple days later they release 1/2 the source the missing bits of course are the new bits.

Today day the release a New source which nearly compiles. This source of course is not at all morpheus they changed the icons and thats about it and they expect the community to believe its the "Real" source.

I personal suggest that all developers try to ban morpheus' clients from the network but that is my opion.

I noticed that myself.. Was also nice of them not to include the resources

Actually legally they don't that is copywrited data if you download the first version of the 1.9 source they include most of the images.

it wouldnt be the first network morpheus was banned from if it happens tho.. Who knows where they'll leech next..

who cares, morpheus is brining in a large user base

all we should try and do is teach people that gnucleus is better and they should ditch morpheus...

try putting a text file or html file up on gnutella that says

WHY MORPHEUS SUX.tx

or

GNUCLEUS IS BETTER THAN MORPHEUS.txt

GNUTELLA is an idea!
It is free and it should remain free.
Those guys from Gnucleus worked hard to publish
a good and free client.
Then a greedy corporation named Morpheus comes
and steals the code. Because most people know Morpheus
but not Gnucleus they think: "Hey that app is great!"

Sad world

Gnucleus is just a temporary solution for Streamcast. Morpheus 2.0 will be a coproduction fo Streamcast and Rebol and it will probably not contain any Gnucleus code.
