I want to be able to get stuff off my wife since I am in Iraq and she is in the states!!! A world wide network would be cool if they can connect them together too.

You should be able to do this already if you know your wife's IP address and know when her PC is switched on, via the "Direct Connect" facility.

Yeah, will it work even though I am in Iraq and she is in North Carolina?

ukbobboy01 August 5th, 2005 10:37 AM

You will never know unless you try, if you have a good connection, your wife's PC is on and you have her correct IP address then it should work.

But you have to try.

Direct Connect is one technique. But it's a difficult technique because if there's any firewalls in the way then you'll have problems. Another way is to send them a magnet link (via email for eg.) Then type this into your browser & LW will open & start downlding it. Then you can browse them & vice versa ... one via the upld window in the Monitor window & the other from the downld window. See How to use Bitzi Web Lookup ... & How to use Magnet Links & Direct Connect

Ok, will do...thanks!

Cheers LOTR

I've just read the instructions on "Magnet Links" and that seems to be the best answer for Red_Johnny.

Best of luck "Red".

Ok, LOTR thanks a huge bunch! I will give that a try as soon as I get a connection that will allow me to use limewire...they are very restrictive here in Iraq about that kind of thing.

Yes, I am in the military. I am very very proud to serve this great nation. You dont have to thank me for what I do as I would do it anyway. But thanks for supporting us.
