Annoyance with LW on Intel Macs... Limewire was supposedly released as a universal binary in early 2006, but the app is recognised as PowerPC on Intel Macs. I tried running the Limewire.jar file inside the package, and i must say it's MUCH faster than running the app itself.(except its icon is a coffee cup and its name is com.limegroup.gnutela.gui.Main) This is annoying because it gave the impression that Limewire was extremely resource-hungry, when it could have been a quiet app. I don't see why this wasn't fixed before and I hope a LimeWire programmer notices this before the next release. |
LimeWire is an Universal Binary. In fact it's not possible to run LimeWire in the Rosetta emulation. Apple's QA1295 may answer some of your questions. |
