Double Trouble. First time Limewire AND first time forum

I am completely lost. This is my first time in a forum (I guess that's what you call it). C what I mean. I hope I have done this correctly. What exactly is a thread?

And if that wasn't retarded enough, I downloaded the installer on Limewire and it asked if I would like to run or save it. I selected run and then it simply left me at the same page where I select which pro or basic. where exactly do I go in order to be able to play music on my pc? Is everything this complicated or am I just a complete moron?

After reading the other messages, it seems as if I am not even in the right place. Now I'm curious. What is Phex and how do I begin? Does it do the same things like being able to download music? If anyone has a moment, I would really appreciate it.

Phex is a p2p client like LimeWire and it connects to the same network (the Gnutella Network).

It is slightly more complex than LimeWire but has some capabilities that LimeWire doesn't have.

You can get an overview at Get Phex - PhexWiki

Also please have a look at our guide for new users:

And besides: Welcome to Gnutella and happy sharing!

Hi, I am also a new user. Actually I am the grandma of a user who loves limewire. I am trying to figure out how to get the "clean" versions of some of these songs. I went to filters and added a few words, but if I click on "ignore adult content" will it filter out the stuff that I don't want my 10 yr. old granddaughter to be inundated with? And if that is correct, how do I clean the huge list of songs she already has on there without having to go through each one and listen for adult content? Sorry everybody, but I just want my little girl to be able to listen to the music she likes without having to hear all the stuff that isn't particularly good for children. Thanks for any help you can give me.

There's only one solution for you: Listen to the songs yourself.

p2p netorks are unsafe for children, because noone can control the content which other users share in there.

And real child-safe filesharing simply doesn't exist.

The only thing you can do is hide files whoose names obviously say, that they are adult content.

When she wants to use a filesharing program, the only real thing you can do is to use it together with her and make sure that she doesn't download anything which she shouldn't, like copyrighted material or stuff which isn't safe for children.

Sorry that I can't give you better advice.

Best wishes,
Arne
