Please check your firewall.

Does Phex have a little wall icon at the lower left corner of the window?

Windows Vista and Downloads

Yes I have a fireall displayed and I am unable to get rid of it. Any help would be much appreciated.

You need to let Phex through your firewall and forward it on your router.

If this sounds like mystical mumbo jumbo, please don't hesitate saying so.

As a start, this thread has some info to open a port: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/288824-post9.html

Hi, I canīt connect Phex to network.

Iīm on Windows Vista, my router is ZyXEL and I cannot open a Phex port in routerīs firewall. Can you help me?

Thanx in advance.

Which port number did you try to open?

To find the Port number you need, just go to the network-panel. There on the left side below the list of connections you can see your IP and port (the port is the number after the colon (":").

snowdog April 3rd, 2008 05:45 AM

Ok, is something like:

My address: 127.0.0.1:35018

arne_bab April 7th, 2008 01:42 AM

Exactly.

"35018" is the port you need to open.

Phex chooses a random port on first run, so you can't just be blocked by blocking all connections to one single port (and so people can't just check if you have Phex running by connecting to your IP with a single wellknown port).

Ok, in the windows firewall the port is open, but my problem is the router, I canīt open the port in it. I donīt know to do it in ZyXEL modem/router

ZyXEL open port - Google-Suche

snowdog April 8th, 2008 06:13 AM

Ok, I will try to do it.

Thanx a lot!

arne_bab April 8th, 2008 10:57 PM

Did it work?

snowdog April 9th, 2008 05:27 AM

Hmm, not yet....

I will review all steps later with more time.
