"A Search By Any Other Name"
 

I purchased Limewire Pro a few days ago and have had great success downloading and sharing. My problem is trying to get searches to work the way they are "intended?". Take the following examples:

If I select "VIDEOS"
and then "MUSIC VIDEOS" and do a search, I get the available listing of music videos, by a variety of performers.

Okay...

So, I want only one performer, lets say Edit , so I:

Select "VIDEOS"
then "MUSIC VIDEOS"
and under "more search options", under the STARS category, I type Edit results? The exact same as the first search, as if I hadn't put a name under STARS at all.

What it boils down to is this: No matter what I put for "more search options", if I have selected "VIDEOS" as the type of media, and "MUSIC VIDEOS" as type of Videos I want, whether it be a Star, a Producer, or a Studio, my results list comes back as if I had only selected "VIDEOS" and "MUSIC VIDEOS".

Now if I only select "VIDEOS" and then under "more search options" put Edit, and do NOT select "MUSIC VIDEOS", I get only videos with Edit, however the results list is NOT limited to Music Videos. grrrrrrrr :)

To make matters worse, I want to get Music Videos by Edit. Now I'm really asking for it... no matter how I set up the search .. all I get is adult star Edit results back. I can put in VIDEOS, MUSIC VIDEOS, Edit as Edit(but see problem 1, I get all the music videos by any performer that are available to my connections), but if I put just "Videos" and Edit under Edit I get yep.., you got it Edit in 80 different flavors... but Not One EditTHE SINGER selection to download.

So 2 probs... 1) why is my "more selection criteria" ignored when I use "VIDEOS", "MUSIC VIDEOS" and 2) how do I search for the SINGER Edit and hope to get some of her music videos to show up in the list.. along with .. yep 80 flavors of Edit or another?

Hmmmmm. Not even one response or tidbit of advice. I take it either 1) the world is stumped, or 2) I'm not on the "people to help" list. Oooo-kay.

Anyway, FWIW, I get the best results by using an "Any Type" search with two terms and the extension.

Sooooo try "artistname titlekeyword .mpg" (or .avi or whatever extension you want) and see if that gives you better results. Turn on the adult filter to help reduce the porn spam.
