Another one saved.....sort of...

I'm glad to hear that you got things squared away kerjak. One can't put a price tag on their own pride(<--pronounced revenge ;)).
Hopefully myself and others here have been of good use, and feel free to mention this topic to anyone you know. The more widespread it becomes, the more these company's will collapse. Man I love the wonderful world of FREE** file sharing <raises roof>
**Venom's Dictionary defines it as such:
free
adj.
Not paying money for free programs just so that I have the reassurance that if said program doesn't work I can have a cheetoh's eating, couch sitting, game playing, music listening, customer service rep tell me I'm dumb! (Those are my jobs)

Peace out ya'll

Does anyone have a contact # for clickbank? I sent an email to them about a refund but would like to have a phone # as well. Also I reviewed to terms and conditions for lightspeedmovies.com...i didnt see anything about a 100% guarantee or anything so does that mean there is no way i can still get a refund even though its a scam?

got a refund

Thank you everyone for your advice on getting a refund. The other thing I made sure to do was get a confirmation number and have them remove my e-mail from their servers. So glad you all were here!

Hi,

My brother had just fallen for this scam and I thought there was no way these people should get away with it. As soon as I found out (which was luckily before any of their software had been downloaded and within about an hour of signing up) I called the company (www.mp3musichq.com) and told them I want to cancel. They asked why so I told them that they were misleading, implying that you could legally download music from their site which is just not the case. I also stated early on that I knew about the required "7 day cooling off" period and they were obliged to cancel the subscription.

Like other people they said that there would be a cancellation charge and staright away I questioned why. There is no way they should charge for processing fees. I mentioned that this was to be taked up with the credit card company and I expressed once again that I know exacty how peer-to-peer works and that I know that if my brother was to download a song by any well known artist he would be performing an illegal act (believe it or not they tried to persuade me that this was legal!).

Anyway, the whole phonecall lasted between 5 and 10 minutes (which couldn't cost too much on the phone bill) and I was told that a full refund will be given with no cancellation charge. I got a reference number and the credit card company has already been told that the charge will be disputed if it is not returned within the promised 8 - 10 business days.

I actually have several qualifications in law and computing and made sure they knew that I knew what I was talking about. I phoned on my borthers behalf so they couldn't fob him off with technical or legal jargon and it seemed to do the job.

My advice is to be quick and to the point. Be assertive but not to aggressive. Make sure that you make it clear that you know your rights and always go into the conversation with the intent of getting a full refund. If you have a friend who knows alot about computers then it may be worth getting them to call on your behalf too.

Congratulations, well done & thanks for the advice. Glad you can share your advice to others in a similar situation. ;)

SCAM-www.themusicsmembersarea.com

A charge for $44 appeared on my CC June 8 billed by dwnldsupport.com/ for themusicsmembersarea.com. It was for download privileges for a year which I didn't order. I tried to access billing info at themusicsmembersarea.com but it requested a password I didn't have. They referred me to the eMail they sent when I signed up but I never received an eMail. My CC company will credit my account so I'm OK but the point of this is how they got all my info. It's kind of interesting. On the date my CC was charged I was on the Limewire site and decided to upgrade to PRO. I filled in all the info and then changed my mind. I didn't submit the info, just closed the page. This info was somehow hijacked. This is the only thing I can figure out. Googling themusicsmembersarea reveals other posts about their being scammers. Some believe they are also using a copy of a Limewire program for their downloads.

Hope this helps somebody.
