Old paid version

I subscribed to Limewire about a year ago for around $50. This was supposed to be a one time fee for a lifetime membership. Now I see the service is free. What exactly did my subscription fee go for? I was under the impression that it was to pay the copyright holders of the songs I downloaded a small royalty. Or was it just to buy into the system? I wish I could get upgraded to Pro now for my subscription. Anyone have the answer to this?

O.k, this is what i did after paying about £20 to some affiliate of limewire about 2 years or so ago.

Simply click this link ******
Once ya done, you should have a choice of 3 things, your original email address from when you first ever registered, or recently you can now give your username and password which would of been sent upon your registration. If you struggle to do this, feel free to gimmie a nudge on msn/email whichever . i will be on as domgoran, @hotmail.com , and i will give ya a name and password to borrow for upgrading, but shhhh, dont tell everyone.

Once your done with the loggin in bit btw, you will have a choice of loads of Gnutella programs, but importantly the latest version of the p2p program. If you were to however, get the Limewire for free, say from download.com, sure ot costs ya nothing, but you get a cruddy version, thats quite slow and not as effective in my opinion, but again, lemmie know and i can give ya same version as mine for free, and i currently use limewire 4.9.23 pro. I hope all this info helps, but like i said, [email]*** or domgoran for addy on msn and i will be pleased to help.

Well I feel sorry for you people. Only get your gnutella programs from the official sites. Do some investigation 1st before you pay money over the internet. There is no such thing as Lifetime membership. That's what scam sites offer. They make you pay for the FREE versions of programs. You pay, then they give you a link to the free version downld site. You think you have pro but instead you have the basic free version. Either that or they give you an adultered version which may include spyware, adware, viruses or other home made variations of the real thing such as 360 share or eTomi or BearShare2005, etc. See the following links: 1. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...5&pagenumber=1

2. Known Scam Sites which applies to more than one type of gnutella program.

3. get your $$$ BACK!!! (music members)

Are you sure about that? Go to LW's menu bar, Help > About Limewire
Does it say LW Pro? Doubtful! Only get LW from the official site: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/download.shtml

Yes m8, i am quite sure which version i use, and just FYI, i didnt pay for it neither. As for paying for the original, let me ask you, when you first ever started to use the internet, did you now pay for anything which you can now get for free?

No didnt think so, so before you start on peeps making mistakes, concentrate on your own mistakes m8.

first, limewire doesnt have any affilates. that site you pointed to is SCAM site. limewire has only one official place which is www.LimeWire.com. you dont need to be pointing anyone in the wrong direction. so i suggest LOTR or another mod to edit that link and/or the post.

you can get LimeWire for free at www.LimeWire.com and if you want, you can get the PRO version for $18.88 with 6 months free updates and email based tech support.

tip: you dont need to be in such a defense state since he was simply pointing you into the right direction.

Yes I did & do pay for software. In my field of work, my program id signature needs to accompany my work. And we do not promote the illegal obtaining of software on this forum. And the site you quoted are receiving money for something they don't own, design & give a damn about their customers. All they are interested in is a quick buck. You sound like a miserly sod & I wouldn't be surprised if you work for the scam site you were promoting. Ask the official Limewire programmers what their opinion of the site in question you listed.
