Yeah...I would limit the numbers of files I share. I also advise you never to download movies. I think episodes are ok...

if i delete the files for sharing under the options menu. that will stop me from sharing completely right? or just highlight all the files and click non sharing?

What ever you do dont delete anything you will loose your files altogether...
If you dont share you then become a freeloader which is not a good thing as the point of p2p is file sharing and if everyone stopped sharing that would be the end of it....
Try getting Peer Gaurdian its a free app and it will keep the nosey people out of your computer...

yea i downloaded the program.

hows it work? do i turn it on like a anti virus? the program says blocking alot of ips and blocking http? do i click unblock http?

Yeah same sort of thing just make sure you allow HTTP, if you dont you wont be able to get onto web sites, or alternatively you could configure it to just allow the sites you want to visit....

i just clickd it to allow because it was making my sites run real slow.

so downloading this program will help in the safety issue. i dont plan to download alot anyways. thanks for the help. ill be sure to come back to this board for info.

so what exactly is all the ip addresses on the blocked list? i see my ip address with another address every minute updating the list

Those ip addresses are the ones trying to look at your computer and your blocking them so they cant...Im not sure about the other, if you have any concerns you could PM UK Bobboy he knows this app like the back of his hand...

My sources (aka. Danish pirates) claim that PeerGuardian 2 is worthless and not worth using. Is that true?

Another choice is ProtoWall, but I'm having trouble getting that to work. Anyone here think that's better?

Not saying I don't but, what if you don't share files on Limewire BASIC? Is that safer or.......how can you get caught? I'm pretty young and naive, so I don't really know how this "getting caught" kind of thing works. Please HELP.
