These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. 10. Posts should have descriptive subjects. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit. 13.  Help, my LimeWire wont open! Whenever I click on the LimeWire icon, the error sound comes up, but no message identifying an error appears, yet my LimeWire refuses to open up! This just started happening today and I've got no idea how to fix it, I tried to check if it was Firewalled but it wasn't. How can I fix this?  |

| Try deleting your LW Preferences folder; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included.) If still problems, uninstall your Java using your Add/Remove control panel & then reinstall using the "Offline" java installer from the link above in step 1. |

| If you have XP then did you consider a system restore? Were you refering to this patch which increases connections http://www.lvllord.de/?url=tools Your problem sounds like a system issue. If you've deleted preferences, reinstalled Java & LW, then I'm not sure. How about a reformat. You did configure your system didn't you for LW so it can connect through the firewalls re: XP firewall & UPnP settings for your modem/router? See Connection problems? Check here first! | Try everything again then; uninstall Java & reinstall using the "Offline" version. Delete the LW preferences. Reinstall LW using the "Offline" installer. There's a new LW 4.10.9 version out. Before doing this however, try running this small utility Crap Cleaner BTW you could always post at Norbies site in the general section & explain a program refuses to open. BTW if you don't already have them, run these programs 1. ad-ware (FREE), & also 2. Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE) Last edited by Lord of the Rings : February 18th, 2006 at 08:05 AM. |

| If you tried reinstalling Java with not effect, then uninstall & downgrade to Java 1.4.2 or if that's what you already have, upgrade to 1.5 Links to Java in the very 1st link I left about fixes for LW. |

| okay hello people. i'm new so yeh lol... okay um.. i try to open limewire pro, but it jst doesnt run and i have no idea why! i tried to uninstall and and install it again, but its just not working and i'm kinda annoyed. it was working properly a few days ago!! can someone please help me asap? thanks.. |

 It Worked! :d:d ok chill yall!! i just fixed my problem!! and it occured to me a few minutes ago!! i system restored my laptop... to what i last updated. whcih was the java thingy. and my laptop retsrated and all... and limewire worked   am so happy lollllll...so maybe u guys should degrade ur javas to the earlier version? hope it works  |
