OKAY I Don't know where else to talk about this i'm trying to get in touch with someone that works with limewire. i was just recently disgusted when i found out what pthc stands for well i still don't know but its got something to do with child porn....
and beleive it or not but people are using limewire to share child porn its sick and its twisted and there has to b something the creators of limewire or whoever from limewire can do like deactivate users with illegal porn its not hard to find them u can't even search with out some sort of weird porn thing coming up how can i block sick stuff from showing up when i search??? i think that even the police should b envolved in this. limewire is helping with the distribution of child pornography and n e kid can access these pictures and videos mabye someone else knows who to talk to this might b a waste of time but i feel sick to my stomach and like i have to at least try something to stop child porn on limewire

I think they're aware, becuase I've heard in the past that Limewire had been documented to have child pornography.

it is sick, and I agree it should be removed ASAP and action should be taken against hte people sharing it. But laws vary from country to country, so they might not be able to do a whole lot.

The other day I did a search for “little Britain” (a great comedy show in the UK if your not sure what it is!) and I found the episode that I wanted and started to down load.
When it was complete I went on to play it only to find that the person who had it in their collection had given it a different name…….it was very hard porn.
I’m no prude but if any kids had done the same as me they would get a serious shock not to say a load of grief from their parents!

Interesting rant, I dont condone kiddie porn in any way shape or form, but it is just another form of illegal activitiy that Limewire can be used for.

You cant out build criminal activity in your products, apart from it being impossible, criminals are very clever, and would be resourceful enough to find way around any block you tried to put in, whilst the ability of those using the system legally would have been reduced.

Limewire do a reasonable job, they have a function where flagged adult content can be blocked for the prudes amongst us, and then a key word filter system to further block unwanted content.

MY key word system has words like
underage
lolita
preteen
pedo
baby
kiddy
son
daughter
school
******
child
year old
"1 yo" through to "17 yo" (The age of consent is 18 where I am)
dad
father
mother

bung these into your key words and you rarely see any underage porn. Yes some people miss name files deliberately, but if you use blitzi, that filters out most of them. If you dont touch any files not recognised by Blitzi you will pretty well eliminate the problem (even if you are stopping yourself from getting any newer content)

Not sure if this has been mentioned, but if you are searching for audio files, select audio files to search for, same goes for programs, videos, etc.

That will help prevent porn from being brought up. Of course, if you are searching for images, or videos, that probably won't help much, since porn usually comesi n the form of video/images.

Instead of ranting and raving like a lunatic follow WW's suggestion and report any child pornography you find.

It really does not matter if this rubbish is legal in some parts of the world if enough people stand together against it and western governments bring enough pressure to bare then child porn can be made illegal wordwide.

Yeah im too aware of tyhe porn thing but not come accross kiddie porn thank god.

My wife had a go at me tonight because porn was found on our pc.
But as well as that there is also 'advertising' goingon , ppl are ABUSING the limewire system to spread their vile content any way they can.
If it doesnt stop pronto then i will be boycotting (along with several other thousand ppl!!)
Would help if it was a subscription only thing,which i beleive would put ppl off putting (hiding) Porn links and things into the songs once played in WMA.

I heard on the news this morning that 27 people worldwide got caught distrubuting child porn over the internet, and some of these babies were only 18mths old ...

3 of these people were from Australia
One was a 22yr old from Stafford here in Brisbane
Another was a 30yr old from Newcastle in NSW
and the other man was a 56yr old from Victoria....

These sick *******s will be caught and if everyone that sees child porno through p2p reported what they came across, then maybe it would stop, heres hoping.......

I did a search...and found a video with an awfull title. Something like "the **** of a baby" or something. I said to myself..."this cannot be real...there cannot be people in this world so ******* sick and evil...this has to be a joke"....I started downloading the file...preview it......and you could not sleep in about three days! :mad:

I am a pretty flexible guy......I can watch normal porn...but this child stuff in just plain wrong....I can´t think of anything worst...really...

There has to be something Limewire people can do to take this people out the system.

Unfortunately, you have found out that there are amoral, evil, "call them what you will" people in this world. People who will do anything for money and/or see other people, apart from themselves, as things to exploit and get rich from.

These people, as long as we human beings control things, will always be with us, our duty, as decent people, is to report these scum bags where ever we find them.

There is no point loosing sleep over this, no point in jumping up and down as it does no good. The only good you can do is report their IP address to the FBI.

Someone suggested, some time back, to report every child porn file title they come across again this does no good as it swamps law enforcement with bogus/useless/false info which waste scares resources.

The thing to do, as you did, is check these retched files, make a note of the IP address where they came from, report them to the FBI then delete the rubbish from your system.

You do more good that way, and potentially save other children from being abused, than all the ranting, raving and useless tears other forum members seem to indulge themselves in.

PS. I have no hard evidence but I believe a lot of these kids are abused by their own parents or with their parents consent.

I'm a woman in my 30's and i'm no prude. But I do agree that there is far too much "adult" material / porn (of every kind going) on Limewire, and it has ruined it for my kids (who aren't even teenagers yet).

I will not allow my children to download from Limewire due to the FACT that when you search for something - no matter what, you get "adult" material.

I ask them what they would like downloaded, and I do it for them. I will NOT have my children exposed to this type of material. And I worry about those children who are accessing and downloading material that is not appropriate for them, without their parents knowledge, and the mental scars / damage it will / has done.

It is not only un-appropriate, but annoying when you're looking for something and it's bombarded with this "adult" material.

Note: When I say children, I mean those children who are under the legal age of consent (as dictated by the Law of their country).

Why doesn't Limewire crate an "Adult" Limewire version for all of this material ?

I do not intend to offend anyone, but make a meere point.
