Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? (see sample attachment below)

When no search results come up at all, it tends to suggest ISP (internet service provider) intervention & filtering/shaping/blocking.

Try an experiment, try downlding a magnet link from here & tell us what happens: http://www.magnetmix.com/video.shtml

Can you give us a total description of your set up:
1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98)
2. What firewalls you have?
3. How much ram?
4. Hard Disk space available?
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.)
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
8. What version of Limewire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
9. Who is your isp provider (Internet Service Provider)?
10. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
11. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.
12. Do this test: Bug Report instructions & sample image Is the result True/False?
13. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

1. Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

2. If still problems, try removing your Java using your Add/Remove control panel. Then re-install Java using the "Offline" Java installer which is about 15 MB download: Java 1.5 (take the JRE)

Ah ... it took me a while. It means that you're not properly connected. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon as in the attachment above?

Did you try deleting your Limewire preferences whilst Limewire is closed?

pernille May 29th, 2006 06:26 AM

i see the wall yea.
it came an another massage up now, and it says that i have firewall...
but how do i remove it?

pernille May 29th, 2006 06:32 AM

i am sooo good!
i yust had to turn uff my personal firewall.
thanks man.
you helped a lot!

i am glad:)

1. Your windows XP has its own firewall so you need to configure it.

2. Your Netgear device will have an internal NAT firewall. Make sure UPnP is enabled on it.

Instructions for these can be found here Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link)

Sorry we don't have a Norwegian translation. :) But do your best to understand or get a translator for it.

Excellent, that was quick!!! :) But I do not recommend going without a firewall for your own protection. Configure your XP firewall; see Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) ;)
