These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. 10. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information.  i would like to change ... sorry i don't speak very well english lime wire: i would like to change the reader of media file, because when i do "appercu" (preview) win amp is openning and i would like that it was VLC media player how can i do for it? thanks  |

 Go LW>Tools>Options>Player and unmark the square that says " Use LimeWire Media Player" The next time you try to preview a music file LW will open with your default player. If that isn't the VLC player, then go and uninstall the VLC player and reinstall it. That should make it the default player. If you haven't downloaded it, go here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/  @luke_19 Keep your unqualified comments for you; your teenage attitude is not appreciated here !!!:mad:

| Are you using Windows XP I read somewhere on the forum that VLC for some reason will not work previewing files in Limewire You can go to the Limewire library click on a file then press explore and the folder that contains the file will open (note: in some cases VLC will detect that the file is not complete and will offer to fix it for you. If that happens press cancel.) If that happens you can still preview the file in most cases after pressing cancel. If it does not work then you can just copy the incomplete file to your desktop and choose to fix that file instead. Then just delete the copied file when finished previewing it. If you choose to fix the file in the incomplete folder. Limewire will not recognise the incomplete file after the fix and you will have to download the whole file again

| It might be easier for jlau to use WMP as the default player for the preveiws and install the codecs for that...As you said sleepless VLC wont preview files...  Also jlau take no notice of luke_91....

| yes i use windows xp i understood that VLC is no working with LimeWire, i would prefer that it does...  so i'm going to put WMP as my default playerwondering why:could you give me a link to download a good codec? thanks for your help to all |
