Burning movies onto DVDs

Hi,

When I download movies off Frostwire, my computer saves them as *.wma

When I try to burn them onto DVDs using Nero, the Nero program doesn't recognize files with that extension.

I was told I either need to get a decoder that will convert the *.wma files into a format NEro does recognize or get some additional plugins for my Windows media player and burn dvds that way.

Am I on the right track? And if so, can anyone tell me where I can find the decoder and the plugins?

Why would your computer save them as .wma? I've downloaded videos before and they've always stayed as the file type that they started as(ie. .avi, mpeg, etc.).

As for converters(to convert .wma to .avi for example), you'll most likely have to buy one. You can get free trials but they tend to put a huge watermark in the middle of it.
