hey, i just created an account to write this because i don't know where exactly to express this serious issue.

recently while downloading videos i came across titles of child pornogropahy or in other words **** videos. I checked the ip adress and the hoster of the videos has an array of videos with the same child involved.

Although this is a free p2p program, content like this should not be aloud at all!. Im not gona talk or start something with this because i don't have time, IM just letting it out if it hasn't already. I suggest makin an update that does not allow certain words like Roygold and anyother words that refer to these videos on the file name so no one can really download this content.

You really should report this if the person has a static IP

Check over a few days, maybe a week if you get the same results from the same IP. This is because if the person has a dynamic IP then you could get someone that's completely innocent in heaps of trouble.

I also created this account for the sole purpose of protesting and notifying the powers that be of the problem of porn files. I like to look for rather obscure composers or pieces of music, but find that almost every search brings up zipped files with additions to the name I searched for -- additions like "naked", "BONUS", "cute girl has orgasm on webcam", "young and cute",or "BDSM". Because many of these are attached to zipped files, I would dream of downloading a Zipped file. I find it odd that the addition "cute girl has orgasm on webcam" came up on several searches for different titles. This phenomenon of porn files cluttering up the searches, but it is also frankly scary. It would be very easy to download one of these files by accident, and I suspect they frequently have viruses attached.

Yes this is still happening; I'm also experiencing this problem. When they come up in my searches; I mark them as JUNK. Here's a new one however; I'm searchng for games, for my four year son, right now, and I'm getting zip files that are SETUP programs for websites that promote POPUPS and Viruses. When I mark them as JUNK, they imediately get back in as NOT JUNK. Let's do our best, and keep doing it. They won't win in the end- God bless you though!

Yes; it's very dishearting to find such garbage to take out all the time. I'm gong to ask LimeWire to provide me with some Garbage Bags. But look; we can't hold LimeWire to all the responsibility of this problem, we as free members must take the opportunity to help LimeWire keep this from continuing.
But please remember; if people keep subscribing [by accepting the downloads of these kind of offers], They must remember that downloads are recorded, and the member's ID is marked. And further; the tags are permantly left on your hard drives, even after deletion, so there is no excuse to be a reason that someone did not know. Being NAIVE as adults is not excuseable.

What are you talking about? LimeWire doesn't save "tags", there is no such thing as undeleteable
data and there is no such thing as a "member ID" in LimeWire or any other gnutella program.

Gnutella is no place to get games anyway.
There's a lot of spam and malware being pushed out there.
Try safer places like the original websites.

I think he means that the network dosen't force people to register in order to share the their audio & visual treasures. It's built to make it EASY for everybody to "Trade Their Baseball/Pokemon Cards" with anyone they want, or can.

Maybe in saying there's no undeletable data, that dirtbags like these pervs leave a electronic trail that dosen't just go away. Just like your deleted files are still on your hard drive. The drive trys to close it's eyes and forget where it was.

Now your lucky enough to share literally anything that your heart desires on Limewire. It's also your job to keep your eyes open for the naughty bits floating out there. Files with tacky and crude titles are pretty obvious. They don't have a yummy creamy filling like a TWINKY. There are others out there that are a tad more subtle. Some are just annoying and a waste of your time to go thru, Like wading thru stupid Ads to get to the Funnies in the Sunday Paper.

Go and review the "search menu" @ Lime Wire; see the trash can, browse host #, and all the rest of the available info included there? Are you really a moderator, or a dumb waiter? And it's somewhat disconcerting that you are the one who jumped right in to make these disclamers; with both feet in your mouth, and that igloo melting down around your ears. Lavie; thank you for your genuine concern, I am more than happy to enlighten anyone with a desire to open their eyes. Marblezilla; you get a passing grade on this one, and an A+ for the humour!!

1. Not only did I pass, I got an A+ and messed up the class's Bell Curve. Who said the class clown can't teach as well as any Cyber_Sensei? WOO WOOOO!

2. Don't be too quick to chastise. Remember, you might not be talking about the exact same thing as far as member info. "Not saving TAGS" might mean Lime doesn't compile a separate list of every file you've downloaded & it's origins. No "Member Id's" might be the same ideology as far as a master list.

Might the real issue your trying to focus on is about File Details and File Properties. Every file has a certain set of info about it, whether it's visible in the File Properties view or encoded a little deeper than the Average Joe can see.

Many squabbles continue because someone might agree with you using different wording for the same basic concept.
