Question I can't get the options/configuration window to stay open long enough to use it! Why?

I just downloaded the LW beta. The only problem I have right now is that I can't get the options or configeration window to stay open long enough to move my mouse cursor down to make changes on the configerations. I used to use LW all the time, then I had to sell my old computer. Now I have a new one, and downloaded LW beta. my OS is windows xp home editon. So I removed the LW, and redownloaded and reinstalled it. But before I removed it I saved the incomplete folder on a cd, and copied it in the LW file after I installed it again. My library of incomplete files was listed and I restarted the downloads, it worked great for about 2 hours just fine, then I minimized LW so I could check my emails, and when I maximized it, my incomplete files in the library disappeared, and the options started acting up again. What happened? Can it be fixed without having to redownload and reinstalling it again? If you have any good answers for me please email me at EMAIL=***
Thank you in advance. This isn't really a big problem, but I am disabled, and all I have to look forward to everyday is my computer.

Betty

You may need to update your Java. Remove all previous versions, then download and install the OFFLINE installer: Download Java software from Sun Microsystems

Try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.)

This might help sort out some issues with too many incompletes and can completely refresh LW: Tip: Purge the Downloads Queue! (click on blue link)

Also be aware of this If you've updated LW and can't find your downloads!

Also you are using the beta ... it may have new bugs of its own.
