limewire AV

How do I shut down the Limewire Av application. I get messages telling me a particular download MAY be harmful to my computer and the download is canceled. This is not an option!!
I run perfectly good AV software with which I scan every file before opening it. I will make the choice as to what I will open and what I will not. That decision is not up to some dumb-*** program.
I have been running Limewire for two years and this is the first time I've run into this censorship. If this part of the application can't be shut down then I will be asking for a refund.

the file was terminated because it is KNOWN to be evil...end of discussion....not many are labeled as such and you can be sure that the ones that are, are indeed bad files...

as far as making threats and such...go ahead...make your day...

this forum is in no way officially affiliated with LW or any of the other gnutella clients discussed here..we are unpaid and in the end don't give a real flip about such threats...unless of course they become abusive towards the forum, in which case there is always the simple option of banishment

You could swap to one of the other gnutella clients instead such as Phex, which is a fantastic program, and there's heaps others to choose from represented on this forum. Else, Downgrading to LimeWire 4 from 5 & resuming incomplete downloads

Weird People

Guys

Some people are just weird or should I say dumb.

Here you have a lamebrain who forced Limewire to download a virus then complains that Limewire allowed him to download a virus:

And in this thread you have another "person" complaining that Limewire will not allow him to download a virus.

I don't get it.

well....this person was probably trying download a nasty pron file (at least what he thought was one) and is p!ssed because he can't get such an 'attractively' named piece of work...roflmao...and he now thinks its censorship to not be able to download some frakking 432Kb virus...

The search for "PRON".

You know Peerless

No file, no matter how enticing, is worth the risk of wrecking your PC, once a virus gets into your windows’ registry the computer has effectively “had it”. And the only recovery option from this disaster is by doing a full reformat and reinstallation.

It seems that some newbies fail to realise that an AV cannot protect a PC from stupidity, in fact nothing can.

I guess if they will not listen then they will have to learn.
