Blue Screen Of Death...Please Help?

Hello.
I upgraded to Bearshare 5.1.0
I used the program as previously, but now (approx half way thru downloading)
the pc crashes.
The "Blue Screen Of Death" appears and i am forced to switch off my pc at
the wall as i have no control.
I regulary run Spybot, Adware, Microsoft Antispyware and AVG Antivirus...My
pc is "clean", with no reported problems.
Everything was working fine with the old Bearshare (4.7?) program.
I use Zone Alarm firewall, (did before) and all was well.
I have removed Bearshare and everything with the pc is ok.
I love your program, so can you please help me?
Am i doing something wrong?
Are you able to send me a link to the "old" Bearshare (4.7, i think), as i
don't have iTunes.
Thank you for any help/advice.

It's happening to most everyone. Googleing hasn't been much help. They talk about faulty ram and corrupt or over heated hard drives. It's neither. If you only d/l 1 at a time it seems to shut down alot less often. Also when it shuts down, about 1 in 4 times it reinstalls bearshare and changes my settings back to default. I've tried older free versions, older lite versions, and older pro versions. Same problem. Sorry thats all I know for now?? PB

Thanx for reply.
I have also tried other versions, with same results.
Bloody shite really, as Bearshare was really great...!!

bad luck?..virus???..dunno..

I just checked, and am having no problems running BS lite

The number one possibility is ZoneAlarm. That thing has
never been strong enough to keep up with BearShare on a
broadband connection, often resulting in freezes and blue
screen crashes.

Try uninstalling it completely and reboot before trying
BearShare again. If that does the trick you can get a solid
firewall for free at this site:

BSD is generally hardware based. Excuse the cross forum links but perhaps these might leave a clue: 1. Link 1, 2. Link 2, 3. Link 3, 4. Link 4

Due to overheating if no BSD! Sorry if these are off the track but although BS might act as the catalyst, the problem will most likely belong to your hardware or drivers. I'd recommend updating all your drivers for everything including graphic cards.

It isn't the fire wall, I had the same firewall before ...no problems, this is a BEARSHARE PROBLEM, AND ITS SOMEWHERE IN THERE SERVERS , ETC.....
