Help(download causing explorer crash)

I could use some help. After downloading on Shareaza a video file that took three days to download even on broadband, it went into a file I named downloads. Using windows explorer I found the avi file, but every media player I use crashes when I try to open it or play it. Then I get another error message that windows explorer has crashed and yet another Dr. Watson crash. Using Windows XP, even if I simply right click on that file the crashes begin again. This is like the third or fourth downloaded video that has done that. They are difficult to remove, and yet the download came from a five star location. Any advice?

Yeah, these files seem to be fakes.

However, have you tried playing them using VLC VLC media player - Overview

This player can play most things, including AVI files but if your files still refuse to play and crashes your PC again then you are better off without them.

Delete them, usings a special delete utility like "Unlocker" UNLOCKER 1.8.5 BY CEDRICK 'NITCH' COLLOMB then run an AV and anti-spyware app on your HD to get rid of any rubbish those files may have planted on your machine.

Thanks Bob. I'll try that, but I suspect that these are corrupt files.
