Videos including music videos with no sound (WTF)!

I recently downloaded a music video using Shareaza as well as another video file and both downloaded like the old Raid pesticide commercial with image but no sound!:(

In fact most of the videos I was attempting to download at the time had no sound when I previewed them and at first being a novice on this program thought that the previews had no sound but then just a single one of the many videos I had been downloading previewed with sound. So my question is why are most videos on Shareaza apparently without sound?

Most videos aren't with sound when previewed. That's because that code is old :p
And it got lost, so we don't have the source anymore.

But you might try using a big codec pack: Download K-Lite Mega Codec Pack

Thx but I do not think my problem is Codec related I have about all the video and audio codecs around.

Then it's just because the code is too old ;) I have the same thing for all my movies :p

What exactly do you mean by code?
In alll my time using P2P programs this is totally new for me I had never come accross videos that ran out of sound for the "code" being old!

And it seems to be nearly just about every damn video music or otherwise being shared on Shareaza too! I'm downloading a Pink music video and it seems to have the same exact problem. So basically one cannot reliably download videos of any kind using this program right?

I'm talking about the preview code.
When you downloaded the full movie, you should be able to have music.

If not, then it's codec-related.

This problem is truly one big WTF????????????????????

Oh OK but I'm telling you that is not what is happening in this case because it gets even weirder!

Now as I said I cancelled the downloads that had no audio, well I attempted to dowload them again and now the Audio is there!

Is almost like the first time you try for some reason the download ignores the video's soundtrack (And no they do not even have a soundtrack the first time around I checked using Video Edit Magic) and then for some unexplained sniglet of the universe it downloads the whole thing the second attempt!

Go figure!

Just wait till your whole movie is downloaded.
Don't mind about the preview code. We can't fix that.

That Codecs link really messed things up here!

Now that you mention Codecs the ones I downloaded from the link here have really messed things up now! First most AVIS would not play on WMP or Shareaza's player at all so I had to remove the newly installed codecs completely and now some videos appear inverted of all things! What's the cure? Re-compile them in a another compression format? What?

And I'll take what you said under advisement but I already had the bad experience of downloading a music video clip with no sound so I rather not take any chances. It is obvious that the dowloading routines for Shareaza are a bit quirky so I rather play it as safe as possible.

EDIT: Never mind about the Codec inverted video problem I somehow was able to fix it on my own...

1) If there's a codec problem, then it's most likely you screwed it up. You need to uninstall all codecs first before installing new ones. That's a general wisdom.

2) Shareaza does not trick around with your videos. It's only meant to transfer universal data. If the problem would occur by the networks Shareaza use, then other programs like Morpheus or Gnucleus, would have the same problems.
Shareaza makes a new file to save the preview in, so it doesn't mess around with the real file you're downloading.
