These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. 10. Posts should have descriptive subjects. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit. 13. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues.  Morgwen and others who keep using silly little GIFs You are suposto MOVE those silly little GIFs from the server where you found it to YOUR OWN SERVER. These people were nice enough to provide you with a free graphic, you are NOT suposto use all their bandwidth. "Any images you find useful, simply save them then upload to your web server. Do Not Link Directly To Our Images and Servers..." http://www.fg-a.com/policies.htm I don't know about other people but I find these pretty butterflies and other silly graphics in messages annoying and space wasting.  |

So it's obviously not on this server, and I have seen others doing the same. In my opinion, all these pretty little GIFs are not helping this board look professional. Sorry I have to be the one to point this out, no one else will. Otherwise I love you, and your attitude, and your service to this board, and all your posts. |

| Unregistered, This is one of the advantages of becoming a regsistered user at GnutellaForums.com. This will allow you to disable the display of any images or attachments in posts (so they won't take up any of your bandwidth). For those already registered, click "User CP" at the top, select "Edit Options" and set "Show image attachments and [img] code in Posts?" to "No".

Your little "scanner bar" is taking up SOMEONE ELSE'S SERVER BANDWIDTH!!!! http://animatedgif.net/barslines/slidbar_e0.gif so this poor guy who is giving away free GIFs to people is now having to pay because you won't do the nice decent thing and put the GIF on YOUR OWN SERVER! | Whats the fuss about it? I mean I can understand you if it is your server from which the gif is linked to but I think it is not really THAT important. But hey, Ursula lets just solve this little problem. I have uploaded that gif image on my server. http://216.26.161.50/scan.gif So if just change the link on this url so Mr. X is satisfied

| Hi Paradog........ Sorry no reply to this until now, but I didn't see it until now. View New Posts certainly has some weird behaviour patterns! I'm just finishing a new OS install and all of the fun that goes with that, but I'll be in touch with you soon.

They impose harsh bandwidth limits and limit anything that resembles an image to be called from a page on their server, however the http server itself doesnt do this. Apache and IIS both will send an image to anybody who requests it, as long as they're allowed to. |
