These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. 2. Spamming and excessive advertising will not be tolerated. 3. There will be no excessive use of profanity in any forum. 4. There will be no racial, ethnic, or gender based insults, or any other personal attacks. 5. Pictures may be attached to posts and signatures if they are not sexually explicit or offensive. 6. Remember to post in the correct forum. Take your time to look at other threads and see where your post will go. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. 10. Posts should have descriptive subjects. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. 12. Signatures may be used as long as they are not offensive or sexually explicit. 13. Failure to show that you have read the forum rules may result in forum rules breach infraction points or warnings awarded against you which may later total up to an automatic temporary or permanent ban. Supplying system details is a prerequisite in most cases, particularly with connection or installation issues. Violation of any of these rules will bring consequences, determined on a case-by-case basis. Thank You! Thanks for taking the time to read these forum guidelines. We hope your visit is helpful and mutually beneficial to the entire community. |

I always had trouble with XoloX because of some unknown incompatibility with ZoneAlarm. When ZA is running, XoloX freezes on startup. When I diasble ZA and restart the computer, XoloX runs well. I have ZA version 2.6.362, security level set at Medium, all permissions granted to ZA. I wrote to Zone Labs about this and, incredibly, they replied, but only to tell me to set security level at Medium, something I had already tried. I had this problem with XoloX 1.12 and now with 1.19 ZA doen't seem to cause problems with other P2P apps, such as winMX and Gnotella. Any other people out there with this problem? Any fix? My computer is a P III 550 with 128 MB, Asus board, Soundblaster 128, ATI 16 MB video Win 98 SE ...nothing unusual Thanks

Yes I gave it permission to act as a server. It is more complicated than that. If no one else has this problem, then it has to do with something particular to my system. On the other hand, if many people have this problem, then the problem could be related to XoloX itself. Freezer

when I use Zonealarm normal with xolox 1.12, I notice the red lines go beserk. It seems to be using the network connections for itself. Sends things to itself a lot. I run an AMD K6 500 and it can be a lot of problems in win98. However, in win2k it runs with no probs. Sometimes my system will completely hang for a minute and return back to normal. Is this fixed in the latest xolox? I am using zonealarm 2.6.362 thanx

I am running Zone Alarm 2.6.362 and CA's EZ AntiVirus under Win2KPro. No experiencing the problem with either version 1.18beta or 1.20. Have you disabled the "Tip of the Day"? I did that, and the program would hang on launch. Followed the directions in the FAQ to remove the registry entry, reinstalled and was back in business...

I'm using zonealarm 2.6.231, also set at med. and have no problems with this program downloading. Also using crashguard 2.0 and norton auto protect. When I tried winmx and imesh neither one of them would run right. It sounds more like a program problem not a problem with incompatible to za. Try removing xolox and download it again, It may be just a bad download.

Hi, I'm running a Win98SE P3-500mhz w/256mb RAM and ZA ver. 2.6.362 Xolox ver. 1.18 It really didn't seem to matter if ZA was left on or not on my sys. (these same things I listed below happened anyway with ZA on or off, didn't matter.) When I first installed it it seemed to work fine, but then the probs started happening. 1. I would get 75% done with a dled and then it would always stop! (never could get the rest of the file(s) either) 2. then about 15 minutes into a downloading session with Xolox my 'Resorce monitor' started going haywire! Xolox would SUCK all my Resorses down to 0! and then back up again, then back down , then back up etc etc for about 3 minutes or so, this also didn't go away, every 15 minutes or so there after xolox would do it all over again. Is there a fix for this? 3. now for some reason after a week or 2 worth of download stuff off xolox, I get any connections to dled a thing! any help would be great! thanks, Kryaxx
