How to make Media Player Classic my default player

I have trying to get Media Player Classic my default player with no luck.
I put over 25 hours so far to get it my default player. Right now it says I have Windows Media Player 11 my default player. On Limwire Pro and 360 Share Pro I want to get files on music or movies to download in search. At this time only get 25% information on programs to download of 43/346 programs. My windows is WindowsXP Home , an over 15,000 of memory.
I have taken out window's media player 11 out of my programs, and download
media player clasic by it self to be my default program., but it did not work for me . Please let me know how to fix program.

wondering why September 15th, 2006 01:49 PM

Go to your shared folder (outside of Limewire)
Right click on your file
Select Open with
Choose your desired player and check the box that says always open this type of file with this program....:rolleyes_2:

Is this any help? Setting Default video app. After right clicking & choosing open with, if you don't see WMP Classic listed, then choose Other ... & search for it.

Also check WMP 11's options. I think it has an option for being default.
... under WMP's Tools>Options>File Types you can specify which ones it's the default for. So you can uncheck some of those for WMP 11

hey, new to LW.. i DL'd VLC and did everything you said, including checking off the WMP things and doing the whole open with thing and checking the box. Now when i go to launch a movie from LW it doesnt open up VLC, yet if i open VLC and open the movie from there, it works.... Is it possible to just open it straight from LW?

Not if you're using Windows. The same goes for previewing a movie...open your incomplete folder outside of LW & VLC will preview from there:wink:

You can also use the Launch function for the incomplete folder. Both techniques do not create a preview file which takes up unnecessary space. If problems doing it this way then do as birdy suggests. ;) :)
