**cough** I don't call 12 KB/s off to the races...lol....if I remember correctly you used to have to give more than just your email addy to download, which is why I didn't download any updates past the ones I already have...and at one point it certainly appeared as if one could no longer get updates for Nero7...though I have 'acquired' a version through other 'sources' I haven't had time to do a hash check to see if it comes up with the same numbers as given at the link you provided (which I had already found, though thanks for the effort)

Email address works (I checked that already)

I'm thinking it will be....the update .exe file is named Nero-7.11.10.0_all_update.exe which to me implies that the setup will identify what you have and update the components for that version....

the md5 checksum matched so I'm not worried about any additions to the version I have and I will get to dealing with it later as I am busy with other things at the moment...automatic fit to disc will certainly be nice and I'm surprised that wasn't included from the beginning (and that is a subject I've complained about before in the days when Nero 7 was the current version and before the update which included that function)

I downloaded it. No point for me to install it right now as my drive is borked.

well, I finally got around to trying out the last version of Nero 7, and it does indeed fit to disc as has been described here..schweet...

the only glitch I had was some ffdshow codecs that wacked it out and wouldn't allow me to transcode, but with the deletion of them it works fine now...

good information , thanks , but it is more easy in other neros, such as Nero 8 , Nero 9 .

if you post about new versions, it will be very good>

Avi verses MOV

Because I see fewer movies for .avi. When I download an .mov type how do I play it on Nero 7 premium and transcode it so that I can burn it on to a DVD?

you could try this (i now have Nero 9) Nero - Tutorials

The most recommended player is the free VLC. If VLC can't play it, you probably don't want it.
I think the .mov files that I got were all spam.

Some very good tips here: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/downlo...ad-issues.html
