Next I burn the music to a cd but when im finished and try to play the cd in a cd player I cant hear anything. What am I doing wrong? |

I use Windows Media Player to burn CDs. I've not tried dragging files from the Limewire library; I drag the files from my shared directory. Perhaps that makes a difference. Of course, burners such as Nero give you many more options, such as editing songs before burning them (decreasing blank space, fade in/out, etc.). It's easy!

Could someone give me step by step directions on how to burn a cd using music I downloaded from limewire.I use windows media player on Vista. This thread has been merged because some people find it useful to post two threads on exactly the same issue. We don't find it useful. Last edited by Sleepless : May 6th, 2008 at 06:15 AM.

if you give WMP access to all the songs you have downloaded and then created a WMP playlist I think that is all you have to do in order for you to click on the option of burning a CD. I don't think it's that difficult. If you have any problems read WMP's help files.

A problem with your question is that you do not specify what type of music files you wish to burn to CD. If you only wish to make a CDA type disk (meaning it will play in normal CD players), than WMP should suffice. But, if you want to burn .mp3 files than you should definitely use something else... Almost anything else would be better ! Can you please clarify exactly what you want to do ?

You may be trying to play data files (mp3) in an ordinary CD player and that won't work In order for your music to play in a player that doesn't have the mp3 option you first have to convert the mp3 files into ordinary .CDA files which is the format used on ordinary CD's. Have you tried playing the CD in your computer using Windows Media player? If it works there and not on a CD player it probably means you have burned mp3 files onto the CD and those will definitely not work in an ordinary CD player. I hope this clears things up a bit for you.
