You didn't mention which CD burning program you are using. You
probably just copied the MP3 files and made a data disk instead of
setting the burning software to make an audio-only CD, which would
have made the software convert the files into the uncompressed
format CD players need.

If you have a burner then you might have gotten real burner software
too, like Nero. I wouldn't trust any of those media players to do it.

Check to see if you have one that you haven't used yet.

I use Windows Media Player to burn CDs. I've not tried dragging files from the Limewire library; I drag the files from my shared directory. Perhaps that makes a difference.

Of course, burners such as Nero give you many more options, such as editing songs before burning them (decreasing blank space, fade in/out, etc.). It's easy!

Default Need help burning a cd?

Could someone give me step by step directions on how to burn a cd using music I downloaded from limewire.I use windows media player on Vista.

This thread has been merged because some people find it useful to post two threads on exactly the same issue. We don't find it useful.

if you give WMP access to all the songs you have downloaded and then created a WMP playlist I think that is all you have to do in order for you to click on the option of burning a CD. I don't think it's that difficult. If you have any problems read WMP's help files.

Windows Media Player 10 Guide: Adding Songs to Your Library and Burning CDs

If using a different version, this will still give you the general Idea.

Hiya...

A problem with your question is that you do not specify what type of music files you wish to burn to CD.

If you only wish to make a CDA type disk (meaning it will play in normal CD players), than WMP should suffice.

But, if you want to burn .mp3 files than you should definitely use something else... Almost anything else would be better !

Can you please clarify exactly what you want to do ?

You may be trying to play data files (mp3) in an ordinary CD player and that won't work
In order for your music to play in a player that doesn't have the mp3 option you first have to convert the mp3 files into ordinary .CDA files which is the format used on ordinary CD's. Have you tried playing the CD in your computer using Windows Media player? If it works there and not on a CD player it probably means you have burned mp3 files onto the CD and those will definitely not work in an ordinary CD player. I hope this clears things up a bit for you.

Why did you post the same question on two different forums?
Surely you didn't think that duplicating your posts would get you more attention.
