1628 : failed to complete installation ???
 

1628 : Failed To Complete Installation ?

Why is it doing this? I've installed everything including Java and when I click on the limewire icon under "program files" it starts to install, takes about 3 mins, and then I get this.

1628 Error Still Occurring

Bump up this issue!

I just downloaded LimeWire 2.7.3 and tried installing it on Windows 2000 Prof w/SP3.

I too get the 1628: Failed to complete installation error. This error appears each time I try installing v2.7.3, which has been 4 times now.

Any fix yet???

i tried to install the new one, got through the java run-time thingy and install lagged out, waited for like 20 mins so i tried to restart the install and get teh 1628, i then could not remove the Limewire exe said it was write protected. I have a friend who loves this on his mac, i need to get to loving it on the PC. Any help?
