have exhausted fixes recommended, but still not able to fully connect

I have tried all of the fixes that you recommended (updated java version, deleted LW preferences, not able to repair as running v4.4.0, but did change compatability settings to W2000 and ran the purger rocommended by sdaswani, configured firewall settings to allow Gnutella) but am still getting
message, "LW is currently connected to the network. You search may not return many results until you are fully connected." I can leave it on for 48 hours and still no results. Do you have any recommendations, I exacerbated!

I am running Windows XP with a cable connection, LW v. 4.4.0, Java 1.4. THANK YOU!

Do you know the brand & model no. of your cable modem? Are you using XP SP1 or SP2? Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say ‘Test Page was a Success’. What happens when you go there?

So far you've done everything right so let's hope it's not your ISP. May I ask who our ISP is?

Thank you for your quick reply! I am running XP SP1 (unistalled SP2), the cable modem is Toshiba PCX2200, I ran the test and it was successful. My ISP is Cox Communications.

Oh Oh I hope this is not affecting you: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=31116

Somebody came up with 'a' solution if only temporary: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=32882 I don't know if it will work if it needs to be applied for you.

Don't know why last msg was repeated, but tried fix for ISP's blocked as suggested. Tried 4 different proxys but still to no avail. Am I missing something?

I don't know much about Proxies. Try sending Ne0teric a pm & see if he can help.
