I recently got rid of Lime Wire Basic and switched to Pro...the problem is that it takes forever to load up and it slows down my computer? I thought it was supposed to be better than basic? Basic LimeWire loaded much faster when I started my computer!!!! Help!?!?!?

I am working in Windows XP and have recently switched from basic to pro limewire, ut the problem is that its VVVEERRRYYY slow at loading and ever since downloading it my computer has become very slow?? I have a high speed modeum so there should be no problem there??

I am less savy with Windows than you so I want you to give the details I asked for so that I or someone else will look at them and say ah that's a well written post I'll answer it..

ahhh OK......i'm using Cable....no error messages pop up....i don't know what Gnutella client i'm using? and Limewire Pro is SLOW....and I'm paying for it so soem help would be great...alos i don't know much about computers so could you please speak english to me..

I would suggest 2 things:
1. Go to the add/remove programs control panel & remove Java. Then downld the "Offline" Java installer, & install it from your computer. See link for Java from point # 1 here: Fixes for Limewire

2. Delete your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions in the above link. It's often a good idea to delete LW's preferences folder when changing from Basic to Pro.

Ok I just converted back to basic because i thought the pro was giving me the problems?? Also why would I delete my Java, thats not what I'm having trouble with? If i uninstall Limewire altogether will i be able to get back all my songs nd stuff?

The problem you listed above looks like a Java problem. That is why you posted it isn't it? To find out what problem it is. The issue with Java is that if installed over the net it can cause problems - be corrupt or incomplete. Do what you like ... it was just a suggestion. The fact LW couldn'lt access your preferences folder ... well, is LW Pro installed in a location you have permissions to access? Perhaps it's pro you should have re-installed. It might have been a corrupt installation. The "Offline" installer generally fixes that. BTW LW is 90% Java & runs on Java.
