Do these things: 1. Fixes for Limewire (points 1-3, ie: reinstall Java using the "offline" version.) & also check 2. Connection problems? Check here first! to ensure you're set up properly.

I guess there's a small possibility of this LW Language option showing blank screen

question

is it possible that i have possibly uninstalled or deleted something that would prevent limewire from running?i tried everything you suggested and still nothing.ive erased everything in my computer and started over.nothing.lime wire hasnt ran right since i downloaded morpheous and bearshare.i have since deleted those programs.

Lord of the Rings January 30th, 2006 08:24 PM

Well, with those other programs, they would want to make themselves the default magnet handler but that's not necessarily an issue (I don't think.) Redownld LW & install again (try the "offline" version) as it will uninstall the other version at the beginning of installation.

I think Morhpeus installs other junk, & depending on which BearShare you installed, it can also ... adware, etc. BS Lite is safe.

affirmative

bearshare did present me with some adware.been having small problems since.i download both installers(online and offline)daily.i can install limewire ,but on the last install screen that says install complete, iclick finish and that is as far as i can get.my language box on the install is visible.i get past that point every time.i think what wont come up is the setup wizard.the area that allows me to set my preferences for limewire.were doing good so far.narrowing it down hopefully

Try the suggestions made here http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=52421

BTW I'd recommend getting these to clean your system: 1. ad-ware (FREE), & also 2. Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE), & 3. this cleans out garbage from your system: Crap Cleaner

i recently downloaded microsoft antispyware(beta 1).would this adware keep my downloaded limewire from starting?are you affiliated with limewire?

I am having the same problem except i hadn't um-installed LM all i had done was a clean up of my hard drive so feel i must have deleted a file that was being used by both LM and another file. Now i can install LM but it won't open for me to use.

You will need to install Java and LimeWire manually First go to the first link. You can find Links to java in there Download Java to your hard drive by putting a mark in the save to disc box. Save it to my documents or wherever you save downloads from the internet. Do the same with LimeWire the second link will take you there.

Now with that done click on start then control panel add/remove programs and see if Java is listed on the list if it is uninstall it. Do the same with LimeWire if the un installers were not loaded you may have to manually delete the files. But in most cases this is not necessary.

Now click on the Java installer you saved to your hard drive and follow the instructions after you have completed that do the same with LimeWire.

Please post back and let us know if it worked. If it did not I will give further instructions on manually deleting Java and LimeWire.

Thank you

Thank you Grandpa!
Yes yesterday after i had wrote this post i back tracked what programs i had removed from my computer and the Java was one of them. I reinstalled it and the Limewire and like magic it all works again so i am a happy a little vegemite.
To everyone else the moral is DON'T remove programs off your computer if you don't know what they run!!!

Thanks once more Grandpa.
