There's two ways which are describted in our Wiki:

http://www.phex.org/wiki/index.php/C...rivate_Network

Both work by creating a private network with Phex.

If you have more questions or if something doesn't work as it should, please feel free to ask!

Creating a Private network

Hi,

I have read links : http://www.phex.org/wiki/index.php/C...rivate_Network
I try to follow the first way but I can't connect between Peers in a LAN network
I have the following questions about the first way to connect peers in a Private network:
1.What is "PALS" ? whether it means "PEERS" or not?

2.What is the IP and port to "add" to the favourites in the Network pane ?

3.How to make peers in a LAN network connect together (I sure that all of my computers in the LAN network don't have Firewall) ?

You should read some following expressions:
I install Phex on two computers that connet together in a LAN network and this LAN connect to the internet throught a MODEM.
The first computer have TCP/IP configurations :
Ethernet adapter Local Area connection:
IP address..........................192.168.1.38
Subnet Mask.......................255.255.255.0
Default Gateway...................192.168.1.1
The second computer :
Ethernet adapter Local Area connection:
IP address..........................192.168.1.40
Subnet Mask.......................255.255.255.0
Default Gateway...................192.168.1.1
Phex configurations:
On the first computer: Listening port: 33593 ; Connection type and speed : 10MbpsLAN
Other parameters is default
When the LAN connecting to internet this peer have address:
58.187.174.94:33593
On the second computer: Listening port: 33595 ; Connection type and speed : 10MbpsLAN
Other parameters is default
58.187.174.94:63425 (the same IP, differrent about Port; I don't know why?)

I "add" the following IP and port to the favourites in the Network pane of each peers and try to connect them together but I can't. These IP+PORT that I try to connect are:
192.168.1.38:33593
192.168.1.40:33595
58.187.174.94:63425
58.187.174.94:33593

Thanks a lot!

With "pals" the guide just means "friends".

There are a few things to check:

Could you check if you've selected "other Foxes nearby" in options->network?

Also you need to enable "allow to be Ultrapeer" and "force to be ultrapeer" on the same options-pane.

If you want to connect only behind your LAN, IP+Port are these:

192.168.1.38:33593
192.168.1.40:33595

These are also the ones which should go into favourites (because they are static).

That both have the same IP to the outside is normal (both share one connection). The Port shouldn't change, though.

You can try setting it somewhat higher, like 34595 (you could have a port collision in the network).

You need to make sure, that all Firewalls allow Phex through (on the port selected on that computer).

I hope this gets you connected.

Please also see this info, if downloads don't work (because phex thinks you're firewalled):
