Audiobook question

I've become a heavy user of audiobooks because of my commute -- but they are WAY expensive.

Because they're all AIFF CDs, they're many disks larger than they need to be. Most books would fit on a single CD as MP3s, or I could download them to my iPod.

I simply don't understand why the various gnutella interfaces don't dupport that category.

Anybody like this idea?

There are some other posts here in the forums that refer to this question...

But, here goes again with a simple suggestion...

All you need to do is to convert the existing "high-quality audio" format to a lower bit-rate format... i.e. from, for example, 192Kbs to 32Kbs... CDex 1.51 will do that for you very easily.
With it you can convert from almost any audio format to almost any other audio format.
In fact, with some experimenting with CD-RWs, you may find that you can easily place 6 original CDs onto 1 CD !
And, I dare you to tell any difference in quality !

Click on the CDex 1.51 link in my sig below...

You will see, under Downloads the following:

CDex 1.51 (no beta available):
[ .zip(bundle) ] [ .exe (installer) ]

Select the .exe. (installer)
SAVE it to a suitable folder... DO NOT OPEN after the downloading... Open it from where you saved it.

When you click on the cdex installer (.exe) the program will install to its own folder in Program Files.

Take your time with the initial settings and configurations !
People here can help you if you have problems.

I have some mp3 audio books that are very low bitrate and I can play them perfectly fine, there is no loss of quality that I can hear :)

It's only music that needs the higher bitrate ;)
