A Ripper / Burner Program

I'd like some informed feedback regarding a Ripper/Burner program. I'm in the market for one. If you have knowledge and/or experience with one I'd appreciate some feedback and/or suggestions on a decent -> good program. I'd like to not spend more than a couple of hundred dollars on one, less the better naturally. Tell me about some programs out there with sources if known, their features and upgrade-ability and any known pro or con regarding the program.

I have a Plextor drive, matter of fact I have 3 Plextors (on two computers) that can all burn CD+g and MP3+g and etc files. I want to rip and burn the various popular video formatted Karaoke songs, to edit, change the tempre, remove the vocal track and etc to mix tracks and to customize myself a disc of my favorites Karaoke songs.

Just how much use would Nero 7 (the full blown $99 version) do for me in any of this? If you have experience with Karaoke and what I'm asking about then how about sharing your experience with me here. I'm learning here but still have much more to learn yet. Thanks.

wait for Nero7 to go on some sort of sale for about half price....it rocks for all aspects of burning and has some editing features to boot...I highly recommend it

Well, I already have it but haven't installed it just yet. I recently bought it when there was an in-store $20 instant rebate and a mail in for $50 a short while ago. So Nero will do much of what I'm asking about, huh!? Will it allow vocal reductions and/or removal? I rather suspect not.

Nero7 Ultra has a karaoke filter and various tools/effets as part of its editing suite...since you already have it why don't you take the time to try it out and see if it suits your needs? its surely a hell of a lot cheaper than pro audio software...

I'll be installing it soon as I'm still rebuilding the desktop I intend to run it and all my Karaoke related systems on. Hoprfully it'll all be ready by this weekend. I'm currently on my laptop that is bursting at the seams with programs and it is running low (and slow) on system resources, err memory. It has a gig but it appears that isn't anywhere near enough anymore. I'm going to look into as to whether or not I can get more mem for it. It's about 15 months old. But hey, thanks for the information.

I have not used this site but I came across it a while back and bookmarked it. I make no recommendations. Personally I buy all of mine.

***edited as this looks awfully like a total scam and I refuse to investigate to the level needed to actually prove it***
