ok...the only final thought I have is this: defragment your OS drive...fragmented files can cause many issues, sometimes those that you describe....I still suspect some possible association with spyware considering it looks like you have an HP computer...

ok. and i have an hp media center pc.
i downloaded adaware and had 58 critical errors and disposed of them. so yeah. i can run defragment tonight when i go to sleep.

just to make sure, its Disk Defragment under System Tools right?

FINAL THOUGHT....I advised the use of PG2 earlier...USE IT....and I hope to God you have a firewall (NOT the windows one) and are using it...it wouldn't surprise me at all if you are being attacked by the MAFFIA and are feeling the effects of it if you have no protection (I'd rather walk down the stree naked as opposed to going online without a firewall and on a public network without PG2 also)

this would be easier if i could talk directly to you... however i have norton for a firewall. i don't know anything about pg2... o.o

i found it, its in one of the folders called HP_Administrator, however it says access denied when i try to click on it..
