can i connect trought firewall

people, i cannot connect trought firewall to server with napster because i am under firewall, and in internet i saw that all people talk about this gnutella, what really this is for product , this gnutella can connect trough firewall,

sorry i am very newbie to this , maybe some can explaine to me what is it ???
