after downloading games or programs how do you go about installing them so You can use them?Do I need to scan them for viruses and if sowhat is the best way to do this? Thank You for your help

I suggest you never download .exe files (game.exe) but go for .zip and .rar files, and always check for viruses.
Once you have a complete .zip or .rar extract it, and start with the .exe file found in the extracted folder.
