I too was tearing my hair out when all of a sudden my DVDSanta stopped working and kept shutting down. After a lot of research and shouting at the screen, I discovered that by installing this codec pack http://www.free-codecs.com/download/...Codec_Pack.htm it removed all the previous codecs I'd installed willy nilly (I was getting desperate and downloading them all) It reinstalled all the latest ones, and now my DVDSanta is fine. I was a bit nervous about it uninstallling all my lovely codec packs but it seems there were conflicts between some of them and this pack has been tested so there are none at all. Thought this might help someone... :-)
