If MS chose to sue somebody rather than just buy their company, it generally means that they see the product as a direct threat to Gates' ability to control the World. Therefore, Lindows must work and work pretty well. Competition is healthy, it forces you to continually strive to improve your product...MS don't want this - they want to foist the same bug-infested crap on us year after year and know that we have no choice but to pay them for the 'honour' of letting it trash our PC's. Linux isn't the answer because it's not supported by enough apps...Lindows could have been a good interim substitute...let's see.

The lawsuit is about the name, not the fact they're building a compatible product. "Lindows" is too confusing with "Windows" for (inexperienced) users, especially since the products are supposedly doing the same things. Or at least, that's the last wiff I got from that end.

That's like Charlie Shultz slapping a suit on Linux because the name sounds similar to Linus...this would mean that many inexperienced users come out of the shop with a 7 year old kid holding a security blanket. :D
