bearshare as an ultrapeer

Hi people, do you remember the very old version of Bearshare which has the option of logging in as an ultrapeer? I get it and I tried it, but what I don't understand is how does Bearshare with the Gnutella protocol to make other peers understand my peer is an ultrapeer? I've read the gnutella documentation, and so far I haven't found something related to becoming a forced ultrapeer. Does some one knows how this works?
Thanks, M

There's no magic involved. All it does is tell other nodes it is an ultrapeer using
the standard headers fields they all use.
