Computers infected with virus

Hello! everyone,

We are computer classroom administrators. When PCs are infected with virus, it is really troublesome to manage them.

So do you have a good solution to solve it? Thanks in advance.

It very much depends what the computers are being used for. Whether it's preschool level or college level. Also makes me wonder why you would get the job, if your solution to computer security is coming to Gnutellaforums to ask for advice, first post even.

Is this one of the smart spam schemes, when you wait for some reply.. any reply. and then magically some robot will post the most brilliant greatest solution to you problem?

If not then feel free to elaborate. Listing operating system used would be the first thing.

Just for college level. The reason why i want to solve the problem is we need to make our management more easily.

The Operating System is Windows series.

Windows XP or Vista or 7?

How many computers?

Single or multiple servers? Is the server Windows as well?

What kind of security is lacking. Are you planning to block e.g. peer-to-peer applications, youtube, Google etc.

Without knowing a lot more about your setup, all people can do is guess.

I still have trouble with why you would even ask here. Wouldn't it be better on an IT-security/networking site?

Computer Protection

Hi Sleepless (& Mirusmith)

When I first saw Mirusmith's post I thought that there was something dodgy about it, like you, I thought that if he was genuine then why would he not seek advice from a more reliable source.

That said, if he his genuine then I would advise him to check out Sandboxie, which is protective software that stops all harmful software establishing itself on your PC.

Please take a look at my posts here:

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/favori...sandboxie.html

Also, I believe that the "paid for" version, once installed properly, will prevent any students from downloading harmful software onto any PC with Sandboxie installed on it.

Should Mirusmith have any non-technical questions about Sandboxie I, as a user, will be more than willing to answer them.

The problem has been solved

Dear all,

Thank you all for answering the question. I have solved the problem. We have used a kind of recovery card *.

As a user, i want to say it is a good product for manage and protect computers in computer classrooms.

* Be careful - advertising a certain brand of card can be seen as spamming. Especially since your email address includes the name of the company associated with that card
Spamming will not be tolerated.

Recovery Card?

Dear Mirusmith

What is a Recovery Card?

Although a "recovery card", rather than a full blown back-up, sounds like a good idea I can't help but wonder how much data is actually recovered, i.e is it just a snapshot of of the OS and applications?

And are "recovery cards" available to the domestic computer user?

Awaiting your answers.

Dear Bob,

It is a kind of software that protects your computer. You can back up your OS and software. When your computer infects with virus, you only need to reboot the PC, it will go to the normal state.

When you deploy the software application enviroment, you just install the OS and software on the management side. And then you can send them to the other client side by "Add Clone". The speed is very fast.

It has many other functions. As a user, i would like to recommend it to you. It is really a good maintenance tool for PC.

Why am I not surprised :xeri_ok1ani:

Is this the way spammers do this now?

I won't bother waiting for the next thread or edited post to get your company's name into it. Bye bye now.
