DVD burning Have just been trying to burn a rewriteable DVD but when I enter three pictures on it, that is, when I burn the three pictures on the dvd, I get a window telling me "Files ready to be Written to the CD". My question: Why does it say "ready to be written" when they are already written on the DVD? I burned another file (just one picture, that is) on the said DVD and it is listed under the subhead "Files currently on the CD." My question: Why the difference in wording in these two messages when all the four files have been burned on the same DVD? And why do the messages say "CD" when I am sure I am using a rewriteable DVD not a CD? Many thks for helping an oldage pensioner. GIUSEPPE |
Hi Joe What "CD/DVD burning" software are you using? UK Bob |
DVD Burning I am not sure if I understand yr question but am quoting the markings on the dvd I am using hoping that this supplies the answer you are after. DVD Intenso DVD-RW 4.7 GB 120 min. DVD 4 x IHQ Intenso High Quality I use windows XP and NERO EXPRESS Thanks for yr prompt answer, for which I am GRATEFUL. GIUSEPPE |
Hi Joe As fate would have it, I too use Intenso DVD disks, Nero Express as my burning software and, if you remember from last time, Windows XP Pro as my O/S. Bearing in mind that our equipment and software are almost identical, I am somewhat surprised that you are experiencing the errors you are getting. That said, may I suggest the following: 1) As an experiment, try using CD/R CDs instead of DVD/RW. Insure that you have, as near as possible, enough data to fill your CD/R (which is approx. 700MB). 2) Do a single burn, use the verification option if you have the time. 3) If you are happy with the CD/R burn then try a DVD/R using the same instructions as above. I personally do not use CD/RW or DVD/RW because, for some reason, they have a tendency to go wrong and, if you do manage a successful burn with them then you can only play them on the DVD device that burned them. However, a successfully burned CD/R or DVD/R can b played on any other DVD device with the necessary software, e.g a CD/R filled with JPEG pictures can be played on a modern DVD player. Hope this helps. UK Bob |
Attn: Moderator. Have just sent in a detailed reply and renewal of my grateful thanks to "Truenorth" but why is the reply not listed in the Forum Posts? Thank you. GUZEPPI |
Hi Joe Unfortunately, unless something has gone terribly wrong, the moderators are unable to find a member in this forum with the name of "Truenorth" who has any post. If possible, could you please check if "Truenorth" answered your query using this forum. Please let me know if I can be of any assistance. UK Bob |
Sorry, my mistake. "Truenorth" belongs to another Computer Help program NOT Gnutella. Once again, sorry for the bother. Joe |
