Desktop icons troubleshooting

My desktop icons open on a black background, which I find annoying. How to get rid of the black and make the icons open on a transparent background?

My desktop background is sky blue, so why are the icons opening on black?

Can you kindly suggest an easy and straightforward method to solve this problem, please?

I am on Windows 10 and my PC is a laptop ACER model.

Thank you beforehand for your help and patience with a retired civil servant.

Joe

I'm not sure of the answer. Have you checked your system over with utility programs such as CCleaner for both Cleaner and Registry modes of cleaning?

Only options I see (Windows 8 only) are:
Control Panel\Appearance and Personalisation
Control Panel\Appearance and Personalisation\Personalisation\Colour and Appearance

Once in Control panel you can type in the word icon in the search bar to find various icon options.
