Slow downloads
 

I have just joined the forum, but I am no stranger to LW.
Last week I subscribed to Pro, thinking it would be faster, as it claims to be. However, I don't think it is any faster than the free version.

Is there something I should be doing in this Pro (4.8.1) version to speed up downloads? I find I am waiting for sources for most music.

Also see A well set-up LW can start to automatically continue its dwnlding after it's settled down perhaps 2 out of 3 times you open LW. Optimising LW & last & least are search & dwnld hints. The latter one I've been thinking about re-writing for some time. That's just for playing it safe. eg- I show all speeds & qualities.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for your help with my query on slowdownloads. I should have indicated my computer's Operating System, etc., but due to my newness to this forum (and forums in general) I did not think to include this information. Please excuse this oversight.
I operate Windows XP Professional on a Cable/DSL connection and live very closely to the port. I am not networked to another computer, and am completely independent.
Thank you again for the help you gave me. I have implemented many of your suggestions and think done I have done as much as I can based on all your information. Consequently, I have found a remarkable difference in speed and connections throughout the last day or so, and am enjoying this new-found experience.
