hmmm....ok this is the lounge...so can i rant a bit?
 

well if i can...i've been trying to download the same file for the past....going on 5 days, and have been stuck on 196.3 mb.....out of 202.2 mb....yes that is 97% complete...for the past 2.5 days, it is a cartoon (english dub), and i have been able to download the following 4 episodes....while waiting for this one to finish...always waiting for busy hosts....am i unlucky? or is this some gentlemans cruel twisted joke?

i am posting this because i am frustrated...quite so, but let me be clear....i am in no way bad mouthing the p2p program or its members (i'm one of them) all i'm saying is....let me dl that last 5.9mb from you...whoever you are...ppppplllllleeeeeeaaaaaasssssseeeee

I know that can be frustrating. Sometimes you need to apply all your skills to get it. eg: A. searching the topic again to see if you can find more sources. B. Stop the file from the downld window & re-relect it from the search results to downld. C. Make sure you're not using up all your downld bandwidth on other files or all your downld slots.

done (A) every chance i've had,
have no clue what (B) is,
and for (C)....well i'm connected to a 3meg broadband connection....i don't think i've come close to that yet, lol


but i am feeling a bit better about it.....now dl'ing the 5th episode after it...perhaps if i'm unlucky...i'll get the 6th after as well, lol

i hate not being able to edit my own posts...makes me feel like a spammer....
 

ok, now for the kicker...the episode i am having so much fun trying to complete...is the 2nd half of a "2 be continued" episode....lol it'd be like watching the matrix (first movie) all the way up until he takes the blue (or is it red) pill....and then not knowing anything after that....then going on to the 2nd and then 3rd movie in the series, lol

i think i just wet myself...

Sometimes it just doesn't happen in one night ... be patient .. either at a different time of day or differnt day of the week, etc. You'll get there.

found a couple of things
 

a few minor tweeks to what i've been running at, and low and behold the dl started...now i'm not about to give you full credit ;-)

but i figure the gentleman could have been disconnected, and all that, only to come back and have 20 people all wanting the same file from him (yes i notice the same ip #s dl'ing the other episodes from me as soon as i get them)

for upload vs download...4kb/s dl could be a slow connection on the other end, or could be the 37kb/s that i'm uploading to other people, either way i'm happy, and i thank you for bothering to "listen" to me rant....which reminds me there are things about people that bother me,

1.) people who feel the need to use " " all the time to feel superior
2.) people who excessively use ( ) when a comma (sp) would work just as well
and 3.) people who write like they are talking, using ..... to display pauses in speech

btw i am a horrible speller, and was refering to myself about all three ;-)

u just got to hunt for stuff . keep in mind that p2p networks are like the vertual equivalant of a trash dump....you have to pik thru all the corrupted ,broken , misnamed ,and otherwize bad stuff to find what u want . iv been trying to get this one song for weeks now. don henley boys of summer .wav ....had a good copy up to 75% and it stalled and never started agen...
