newbie needs help

does anyone know how to play avi files? they do not seem to play with winmedia and i don't know what other program to use:confused:

windows media player is fine ...you just need codecs.
serch the froum for "codecs" as this issu has been coverd 100000s of times allredy

ps is my cheezeburger showing up??
