hiya i was searching the programs part on lime wire and put EDIT in the search box and it came up with lots of different things but one of them sauys 'crack' on the side of it, what doeas it mean???:confused:

You know that some software has a trial? whether it's 30 days or 90 days ect. A crack edits the software to make it a full, trial free programme. But doing this is illegal so don't try it.

The crack means it comes with a code or something to crack it so you get the full version free...

Be wary of these files. Some not only don't work but have viruses.

be verry carful of viruses if your downloading programs....

and yes using cracks or pirated software is "highley illegal" ... just like tearing the tag off your mattress... ;) ;]

anyone who uses cracked software is an awful person and should be hung..... o0h migh , its so awful because people who use cracks are rapeing the software companies (whos owners are sitting in there jets hottub drinking shampain) insted of paying $200 for the 50kb spongebob screensaver like they should have.

people who use cracked software and or download music are the scum of the earth and are responsibul for such things a 9/11 , the boubonic plage outbreak of the 1400s, the starving africans , the apocolyps, the cancelation of "friends" and WW2...

it is more illegal than murder...

Although CRT post was "tongue in cheek" there is something important here that has been missed.

A lot of the software companies that put out trial software (15 - 90 days free use) are start up companies, guys starting to run their own businesses to make a living. So I don't begrudge "start ups" the asking price for their software, if their software is useful to me and, during the evaluation period, the application works as promised I will buy it.

Cracking the little guy just leaves the big boys, like Microsoft, the dominant players that always calls the shots.

exes dont execute unless you double click on them (i think) (iv never seen one go by itself) anyway as long as u know what it is and have scanned it with a good AV ther fine.

plus i have all my crap on my second HDD and backed up on zip disk so if windows dies for some reson i can compleatley recover in about 1 hour without losing anything. :)

an IE exploit or two.. or three, which causes IE to download and install bot software. you shouldn't turbo-post a forum and try to be a know it all since you have that cheeseburger as your signature, you're probably a chef at mcdonalds.

So what if CRT is a chef at McDonalds? He, like everyone else, is entitled to his opinion, plus I like his cheese burger signature.

The point is that I, like anybody else that post comments, try to help and in the process learn something in return. But being mere mortals, we don't always get it right that's when someone else comes in and corrects our mistakes.

You have corrected a misconception by CRT, that helps him and everyone that reads this, attacking him personally doesn't help anyone in this forum, least of all you.

OK the "(i think)" was ment to imply that i wasent shur and to correct me if im wrong.

i personaly dont think that an exe can EXEcute without being clicked on or being started by another process within the OS. and i think IE exploits are differant than dling the file via p2p. but im not 100% shure so will sombody with some CREDIBILITY please correct me (not the ******* who enjoys harrassing people and poasting pictures of his own herpies outbreaks all over the forum).

it works like every other OS but its desinged better so its more secure and has less bugs,its allsow open source so any bugs that are in it get fixed fast, and i think mac osx is based on unix.

Hahaha k lets cool down a bit. quitdownloadingexes, stfuNOOB & heykid are the same person. That's what happens sometimes when guests are allowed to post. i have went to a community college. i have 30 credits in information technology, which had no job potential in the decline of IT jobs in the USA with the outsourcing of IT.
i dropped out and i'm making way more money than i would of if i stayed in community college.

actualy i know all the ansewrs to those questions and no i did not get any of them from google.

and i want to go to itt because its a good school (and its cheep).
