Network

everytime i try to search for a music file, a pop up comes in my face and tells me how it needs to connect with the network. i checked my network connection and it seems fine.

so i just need a little help with what i am/ or not doing/ wrong.

What program are you using

bigvinny76 October 22nd, 2005 09:40 PM

i'm using limewire, because i heard it had more files then kazaa. but they make it so freeking hard to access with all the port, zone, and network stuff

so yeah, i'm using limewire and i'm confused on the whole network thing. because that little red/green bar thing in the bottom-left of the screen isnt full up and it won't pick up any files like kazaa does

or maybe thats how its supposted to be? i dont know... thats why i asking..

OHH you connected so poorly. low connect like red or yellow which mean you dont connect to enough hosts, so it need to take it time to scan more host for you and connect to them, LW trying to get you a best connection as possible

bigvinny76 October 24th, 2005 04:21 PM

how can i make my connection better then? is there anything that i can do to increase my connection?

do i need to connect to other computers or something? because i still don't know why my connection is so poor

thanks

you need to disable Ultraleaf, you need to be in Leaf to keep maintain your connection. go to Tools, then Option, click on Speed, then check "Disable UltraLeaf Capablities"

Did that work?

bigvinny76 October 25th, 2005 05:22 PM

no that didnt work. does it matter that it was called ultrapeer?

i have the cable internet connection, is there some kind of actual computer to computer connection that i must establish via some IP address or something? everytime i try to press search, it says that it is still trying to connect to the network. i also have both of the ports working on my computer firewall, and i set up zone alarm because my friend said that it would be easy. i then downloaded a java program because limewire wouldnt initiate without it.

so maybe that background can help a little bit. 1/5 bars is green.

does it matter that i have p2p networking activated? because my brother likes kazaa, and we got that as well.

any help would be appriciated, thanks

DING DONG DING DONG DING DONG!!

Kazza rang the bell, your computer is full of spyware because of *drumroll* ...... KAZZA!! you need to clean out the spyware out of your computer to gain your connection

download those program first, Spybot, Ad-aware, SpywareBlaster

Install Spybot and Ad-aware first, then run them and remove the spyware. then install SpywareBlaster and enable all protection. SpyBot and Ad-aware clean out the spyware, SpywareBlaster help to prevent spyware from installing in your computer and create a hosts that will block the websites that tend to have spywares.

Then start up your LimeWire

thanks for the two sites, although i don't think that they helped at all. after i downloaded the first link and checked the system for anything, it stated that my computer was clear of anything. was there a setting that i maybe missed? because on the next links program, it caught around 3000 sites and stuff, mostly porn and stuff. maybe i should give it a little time, but i dont know. i checked in tools on the limewire menu about the firewall, and it said stuff relating to how limewire trys to make its own connections behind the wall and i dont know if that has any effect.,

i'll give the programs some time. should i undownload kazaa? i'm going to, since you were so adament about its spyware contributions

thanks again for the help, i greatly am appriciating this

IT does. You dont want to use Fast Track network. RIAA been suing lot of user in Fast Track cuz of it sizes.

Ad-aware dont detect what Spybot detected, Spybot dont detect what Ad-aware detected. they both have different system of detecting and they dont have some info which file to detect. so that why Ad-aware and Spybot is best to have in your computer.

Just COMPLETELY remove Kazza, and Kazza-related. it not worth it in Fast Track network.
