iPod Speakers - opinions please!

I'm finally going to get myself an iPod, not sure which one yet but probably not Shuffle or Nano. I'd really like to hear from anyone who uses iPod speakers, just to get your ideas on good, bad etc.

There's a lot of stuff on the net & I've looked at all of the popular ones but I'd really like to hear what you guys think. I guess right now, the Altec Lansing iM7 looks the best to me. Please tell me if I'm wrong...save me from pulling out my feathers & biting my perch:D

All opinions much appreciated!!!

I don't really know Birdy, as I play mine through a 1980s Sony stereo of great power:) The Hardmon kardmon soundsticks are stunning, but not exactly easy to get repaired, should they need repairing, and this is where a dilema might lie. You want something that sounds good to you, but there should also be a decent backup service if it is expensive enought to warrant having a back up service.. If you follow:) I suggest you check out the sevice arrangmennts for Altec Lancing as your choise is fairly expensive:)

I believe that Bose do a tidy little system which has an ipod dock. But the thing there is you would need to sell your perch, cage along with all the feeders and some of your better feathers, to pay for it lol:D

I saw the Altec Lancing the other day in the local Apple shop, but did not listen. It looked cool though ... I was tempted..........

Thanks Hobo, I thought the soundsticks looked good but they're not very portable.
I was in love with the Bose until I read some reviews, the remote sounds a bit dodgy and a lot of people said that the sound was disappointing:rolleyes: Also, it doesn't fit all iPods without buying some adaptor thing.

I'll check out the warranty & service arrangements when I can actually find a shop that sells the Altec Lansing. I'm sure we have an Apple shop here somewhere! As for the price, here it's only $100 cheaper than the Bose...guess I'll have to start selling feathers:D

Thanks for the input!
